I've been gone for quite sometime, but I feel a lot of it has to do with not really understanding myself as an artist or as a person. I've always had a lot of ideas, but not a lot of effective ways to convey them. Ideas about feminism, color, composition. An unusual love of pin-up art and old ads that I couldn't quite figure out into my art. Then I took a painting class about a year and half ago and I've developed by leaps and bounds. Too bad I discovered this love about a year and a half from graduating with a degree in art education (which I realized I hated). I love kids, but not 30 of them at a time at 7:30 in the morning. I simply don't have the patience to put up with the public school system (or that many kids).

A lot of exciting things have been happening for me, though. I became a vegetarian about 2 years ago...its been great for my health, as has been quitting my third shift job and working more normal hours. I have a renewed love in art and great painting professors who challenge me. I just had a show...it was just a small, personal show to present my work, but I got a lot of great responses. I started up a band in January called Born With a Knife(which I've wanted to do since high school). I play keyboards and do vocals/arranging. We are playing a talent show at the end of May. My mother is getting married this Saturday to a man who I know will make her happy. I also am marrying my college sweetheart in October. We are having a Halloween wedding, which I'm extremely excited about. We also adopted a 3 year old cat named Naomi, and we moved in together. Whew! A lot has changed since I was last active here, but I'm inspired again and I'm looking forward to seeing what all the deviant artists are up to
